ON BEING AWAY FROM MY WIFE

Working from Florida this summer has not been easy….
And while the winds of change may sway….
The path to our future will be forged,
and I’ll be home to stay.

This is for you my love…

Love’s Philosophy
Sundown Kiss

The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix forever,
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one another’s being mingle;–
Why not I with thine?

See! the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower would be forgiven,
If it disdained it’s brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea;–
What are all these kissings worth,
If thou kiss not me?

Dual-screen laptop on sale by Christmas

I don’t care WHAT they say on CNBC or the financial shows, No One’s Buying ANYTHING. This week I cut another $100 of fat (Thanks for sucking GoDaddy it finally gave me the impetus to find a new hosting solution that’s not only better, but MUCH less expense – see post below).

That said – this was sent to me. If you want me to buy something, you’ve got a better chance if you put “SPACE” in the Product name.

A WORD ABOUT WEBINARS

Webinar Anyone?

Pontificator vs. Wanabee

You know how you get invited to a webinar every few hours on Facebook? Sometimes they sound interesting. Like how to make a million dollars part time working from home, or, basics of home security?? Everyone’s trying to make a buck. And they’re doing it by trying to tell YOU how to make a buck. Well, everyone can’t make a buck if everyone’s making… a … buck…. Wait…. I…. thought I knew what I was talking about.

Anyway, I just attended one about how to get 30,000 people to follow you on Twitter. They’re certainly nice enough guys but, it was just like listening in on a phone conversation – YAWN. SO?

If you can’t ask questions, save yourself the time – get out of there immediately. Also, if they don’t have a real website – something SLAMMING like, MOBILSTER and it’s just a free blog like this site, most likely – they’re all talk. Fortunately I was working while jotting down the occasional statistic but what a bore, and worse, a waste of my time. I’d rather watch the TV Guide Channel.

And by the way – anyone can click Follow 25,000 or 37,000 times for a year – until they get a zillion followers. I’d rather have 300 dedicated followers who interact with me, and forward my work (samples of the mobile sites I do), oh something like THIS or THIS. It’s not the quantity, it’s the quality. And people getting to know your reputation as someone they can trust. Most times you get one shot.

Google bigwig says browser-based web apps will replace app stores on cell phones

Take it from me. I’ve been around mobile marketing, WAP, SMS, Mobile video for some time now. My sales pipeline and client roster is growing for one reason. They trust me. I’ve turned down several large paydays because I was honest with them, sometime to a fault. It’s a good thing the baby will be content with Breast Milk for a while….

Just Kidding…. SHEESH!

The iPhone’s app store has been a huge component of Apple’s success, but someone at Google doesn’t think it will stay that way. A Google vice president of Engineering said at a conference that he doesn’t believe downloadable apps will be part of the future of cell phones. Rather, web-based apps accessed over the internet and through a browser will be the standard.

That has already happened with some kinds of applications on laptops and desktops; Google is even building its new Chrome operating system around that concept. While there are some technical barriers to that future for cell phones, Google might be confident it’ll happen in that market too.

GODADDY HATES BABIES!!! NO – REALLY!!!

Go Daddy Hates Babies

Go Daddy Hates Babies

We recently had our entire prototype for a patent pending website – wiped out, with no explanation from go-daddy. So I’ve had to shell out money that is supposed to go to setting up house for my baby – Sophia Alexis – who is due in October.

Some of what was lost has been restored after 3 days of around the clock work. When I realized I need to tell people about this.

NOTE: IF YOU’RE EVEN CONSIDERING HOSTING YOUR SITE WITH GODADDY – THINK AGAIN!!!

So I did a little research and found the following – it starts out eerily similar with what happened to us – and how GoDaddy’s Supervisory level support, and “operatives” in their office of the president stonewalled us.

This is from another former Godaddy Website Customer:

“The domain registrar GoDaddy.com took down an entire data center nectartech.com where I do my hosting. They are back online now but it got pretty scary for a few hours. I’m a friend of the owner and being a professional asshole I managed to help him get back online.

What happened was that last week a customer at his data center got hacked into and the hacker started sending PayPal fraud spam. Nectartech shut the server down and fixed the problem however GoDaddy who was the registrar for nectartech.com shut down the domin of the data center. That not only killed their domain cutting them off from their customers since all email went away, but all the domain names that used nectartech name servers went offline as well. Fortunately I run my own name servers and my domains were not affected.

These people at GoDaddy are serious morons and there tech support is somewhat less that 24×7. I have better support than this and I’m a one man operation. This registrar shuts down an entire data center over one machine being hacked. I don’t use GoDaddy myself, and I sure as hell wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. If you don’t want the risk of being arbitrarilly shut down, I’d use someone else”

There are dozens more like this.
