WHAT????? Is Tony ROMO doing on my television…. AGAIN????
The last time I saw him my Minnesota Vikings (who I’m giving ONE MORE YEAR before I switch my Full Time allegiance to my daughter Sofia McLane’s team – THE NEW YORK JETS), we were womping and stomping Tony Romo all over the field.
And though August sucks….. tonight’s Hall Of Fame Game is an omen… a GOOD ONE. Forget about this awful recession – the one that George Bush started and Barack Obama was supposed to fix (and we’re still waiting).
But as Nick Swisher just catches robs another hapless Boston Red Sock (yes that’s singular) of a Homerun… I have an inkling – that was happens every year is going to happen again. SEPTEMBER IS GOING TO ROCK. It’s definitely the best month. September ROCKS!
And though Tony Romo and the Boston Red Sox happen to be on my television tonight – and as much as I can’t stand them – I’m glad they’re there you have to have someone to root against. I can say – believe it or not…. is they’re a reminder to myself why I continue to compete in this world of media relations, in New York no less. Because September is going to be great.
September is the month we in the broadcast PR and public relations business wait for. It’s like the running of the bulls. If you can hang on through the Augusts – you get to play in September – and if you’re good enough in September – you get to play in October.
And as a life-long Yankee fan since Ron Bloomberg played first and Celerino Sanchez was on the hot corner (Google It), it’s an affirmation for me to see my Real Madrid coming back from 3 goals down (almost like they were toying with the LA Galaxy), Josh Beckett in Yankee Stadium (boy I can’t stand him but Schilling was far worse) and now…. that…. that BLIGHT on my visual cortex – TONY ROMO – it’s just a reminder – GOOD TIMES ARE COMING!
And as I write those words – the Yanks score their first run on the SAWX!!!!! 1-0. HERE WE GO!!!! Up the middle – BASE HIT JETER – Two Nothing Yankees!!!! Jeter passes Babe Ruth on the all time Yankees List for hits to become the all time Yankee Leader.
I can’t seem to stop blogging because now Swisher has moved Jeter over to third. I LOVE watching Beckett getting slapped around.
Yes – It’s going to be a great fall.
